Sunil Chhetri honored by FIFA, 3-episode series released on his career

The captain of the Indian football team Sunil Chhetri has been honored by FIFA and the Football Association has released a three-part series on his life and career. Chetri’s documentary, Captain Fantastic, is available on FIFA+.

FIFA has made a three-part documentary series about Sunil Chhetri’s life and career as captain of the Indian football team. Captain Fantastic, Chhetri’s documentary, will be available on FIFA+.
By tweeting about the documentary on the Indian talisman, FIFA made the announcement.

The 38-year-old is currently the third-best international goalscorer, behind football legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Chhetri has 84 goals for the Indian national team, second only to Messi’s 90 and Ronaldo’s 117.

The first episode of the series looks back at Chhetri’s debut and the beginning of his football career.

“In the first episode, we go back to where it all began—all the way up to his debut in India at the age of 20. “Close associates, family, and fellow football players help him tell the story. Aside from that, it’s the man affectionately called “Captain, Leader, and Legend,” reads the first episode’s synopsis.

The second episode is about Chhetri’s first time playing for the national team and how he reached his goal of playing professional football for a well-known club abroad.
Chhetri reaches new heights in his personal and professional lives in the series’ third and final episode. As Chhetri enters the lore of Indian football, records are broken and awards are won.
