The ODI Cricket worldcup 2023 final is set to be in Ahmedabad; 11 other Indian cities shortlisted as venues by BCCI

The tournament has already started on October 5th, 2023, and will end on November 19th of the 2023. Throughout that period, there will be a total of 48 matches played between 10 different countries.
Usually, the ICC announces World Cup schedules at least a year in advance, but this time it has also been waiting for the BCCI to get the necessary clearances from the Indian government.
11 venues have been shortlisted by BCCI for the ODI Cricket worldcup 2023 Matches.
Ahmedabad aside, the shortlist comprises Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai. In all the tournament will comprise 48 matches including three knockouts across the 46-day period.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) was recently presented with an unprecedented tax order before the cricket WorldCup 2023. This news caused a stir among cricket fans, and even sent shock waves to India’s state associations! But in response, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), promised any taxes incurred by ICC would be offset against their revenues from ICC’s central revenue pool – giving Indian fans relief as they wait eagerly for next year’s tournaments.
According to the BCCI’s latest note, India could potentially lose out on a massive amount of estimated broadcasting income from the cricket WorldCup 2023 – a shocking 58.23 million dollars if they’re hit with their current proposed 10.92% tax order and more than double that at 116.47 million should Indian authorities up it to an even 21.84%. The total ICC projected sum for broadcasting revenues? A whopping 533.29 million USD!
Type of Format in Cricket Worldcup 2023
The format used for this tournament is based on a round-robin system with two groups of five teams each playing against the other once before progressing to the knockout stages. In addition, there will be four semi-finals and one final match between two teams with all matches taking place over 50 overs per innings. All teams must also play all their matches within a certain timeline so as not to affect other scheduled games or weather conditions during that period.
